In the autumn of 2023, the very first edition of Festival Voor de Vloed took place in the city centre of Dordrecht. The festival draws attention to the reality of flood risk in the Dutch delta landscape — using art, theatre and participation as its tools.
A new festival for Dordrecht
Festival Voor de Vloed is a production by Tolly Wolly Studio. The first edition struck a chord with the people of Dordrecht, who recognised their bond with water and their city in the programme. Local artists, neighbourhood residents and nationally renowned theatre makers worked together on a programme that was vulnerable, urgent and festive all at once.
